KARMA
Location: Parkland Humane Society
Sex: Female
Breed: Large Mix Breed
Colour: Brown, Black, White
Age: 1-2 Years Old
Karma is the proud mom of our “R” litter—Ronnie, Rufus, Remi, and Rebel. Now that her babies are all independent, she’s ready to be adopted herself! Karma is sweet, sensitive, and full of quiet magic, with a heart as soft as her striped fur. Her gentle nature and delightful disposition will shine through to those who take the time to earn her trust. Her confidence grows stronger with the people she spends the most time with, flourishing with love and attention - this shy friend just needs a bit of patience. Her reserved demeanor only adds to her charm. Karma is the kind of dog who appreciates the beauty of quiet moments and the comfort of a steady bond. Her subtle ways of showing affection are deeply rewarding. She has a spirit that is ready to connect. Karma tends to be a little cautious around unfamiliar people, especially men and boys. Which makes it hard for her to make a good first impression, She’s often curled up at the back of her kennel, avoiding eye contact, with a slight tremor running through her. Watch her with those she trusts, and you’ll see an entirely different dog! Her bum wiggles, her face smiles, she follows commands with ease, and most of all, she loves to cuddle! She’s become best friends with another dog at the shelter named Jake, and the two of them spend their days playing and frolicking without a care in the world! She would do well with another large dog to learn from if introduced properly. She ignores the cats completely and only cares about eating their food if she can get to it! Food motivated she’ll be easy to train, already knowing how to sit, stay, and come. Her recall isn’t the best when she’s feeling nervous, and she could be a flight risk if her person isn’t with her. A fenced yard is most certainly recommended for her adoption. On the property, she walks pretty well on a leash, with just an occasional gentle tug here and there. The long walks off the property still feel intimidating for her. Karma would to best in a home with experienced gentle handlers who understand anxious dogs. She will need time to feel safe & settled. A home without children is preferred. If you are interested in adopting Karma into your home, please fill out a Dog Adoption Application.
