SEAMUS
Location: Parkland Humane Society
Sex: Male
Breed: German Shephard Cross
Colour: Black & Tan
Age: 1 Year
Where are the German Shepherds lovers at!? This gentle giant is ready for a home to call his own. Seamus is an excellent combination of a playful puppy and a wonderful cuddle companion. He is quick to display his cheerful demeanor and amiable personality. With a huge heart, he is swift to grab yours! Seamus has adjusted remarkably well to life in the shelter. He is kennel and house trained; thriving on a consistent routine. He thoroughly enjoys being in the office and welcoming those who arrive. What he enjoys the most is however, observing the shelter cats through the window into the cat rooms. It has almost become an obsession! Although he loves to observe them, he is apprehensive when in close proximity to the cats. In regards to dogs, he is known to interact well with those he meets. He possesses a distinctive play style that may not be well-received by some dogs at the shelter, yet he can play "normal" with other dogs. The criteria he uses to decide whether to engage in "normal" play with some dogs and not with others continues to elude us. Seamus is skilled at walking calmly on a leash, a behavior he has shown many times. However, he doesn't always obey and tends to pull on the leash, particularly when he's excited. Training him is an ongoing process. An ideal setting for him would be a spacious yard or a wide-open area, offering ample room for his preferred activities; Being both a indoor & outdoor dog. He remains calm indoors, simply wanting to bask in your company. Seamus arrived in our care extremely underweight, having apparently suffered from starvation in his previous home. He is progressing well in gaining weight, but he must keep focusing on increasing his muscle mass. If you think Seamus would fit into your home & family, please fill out a Dog Adoption Form
