Meet Chubb — a handsome gentleman with a big personality, a soft heart and a firm belief that comfort is not a luxury. It is a basic human… er, feline… right. Chubb is a professional lounger. Sunny window? He’s there. Cozy chair? Claimed. Fresh blanket? Thank you for putting that out specifically for him. Your lap? Also Chubb’s. We’re beginning to suspect Chubb doesn’t actually live at the shelter — he’s just staying at an all-inclusive resort and has been slowly reviewing the amenities. Since arriving, Chubb has wandered around testing beds, cat trees, windowsills and basically any surface capable of supporting a cat. His standards are high, his schedule is packed and somehow he still finds time for several naps between naps. Chubb is also a talker. He enjoys a good conversation and is an excellent listener, especially if the conversation is about him, food, how handsome he is or why you have stopped petting him. You can tell him all about your day and he’ll stare deeply into your soul like he understands every word. He does not. But the support is there. Chubb is wonderfully affectionate and hands out gentle purrs, little nudges and surprise kisses. He’s the kind of cat who casually climbs into your lap, gets comfortable and leaves you wondering how badly you really needed to get up. Laundry can wait. Dinner can wait. Your bladder can apparently wait. Chubb is comfortable. While Chubb has lived around other cats, unfortunately our sweet boy has found himself on the receiving end of some feline bullying. Apparently not everyone appreciates a handsome, peaceful gentleman simply trying to live his best life. Because of this, Chubb may actually prefer a home where he can be the one and only cat — no drama, no roommates stealing his favorite spot and nobody interrupting his carefully scheduled 2:00 p.m. nap. Frankly, after putting up with some rude roommates, we think Chubb has earned the opportunity to be somebody’s spoiled only child. And really, why would you need another cat? You already have Chubb.
