ASTER
Location: Parkland Humane Society
Sex: Male
Breed: Golden Retriever / Mastiff X
Color: Tan / White
Age: 10-11 Weeks
- Spring Flower Litter -
Aster is a Golden Retriever Mastiff Mix. This mix creates a dog with the loyalty & friendly nature of a Golden Retriever, combined with protective & calmness of a Mastiff. Now before you go thinking this boy will grow to be an elephant, Aster's dad is that of a smaller Mastiff mix. (See Pictures Below)
The size of the puppies also depict otherwise. Aster best represents both breeds, more than anyone else of his litter. With his large head, droopy face and expressive eyes; also having floppy ears which come to life when he runs. Being the only male in this litter; Aster is easy to spot among the girls. We like to say he is the potato amongst the french fries. He keeps his larger size in control when playing with his siblings & other puppies at the shelter, being as gentle as he can be, may we say "Gentle Giant" Aster takes well to change; moving kennels, going inside & out, car rides & being around different dogs or cats doesn't waver him in the slightest. His number 1 favorite though is people. Aster adores when people come to visit & pick him to hold. He's ready to hit you with an arsenal of kisses followed by some snuggles, and wouldn't you guess it... more kisses! Aster is with his litter mates most of the day; however can be seen playing / sleeping independently as well. Overall, the physical characteristics of the Golden Retriever Mastiff Mix make it a strikingly beautiful dog with alot of personality. Generally very laid-back & easy going, which makes them a great choice for families with children or other pets. If you are interested in adopting Aster, please fill out a Dog Adoption Application Form.

It is a rare opportunity in a shelter setting that we are aware of the breeds of both mom & dad.
